Congratulations to Year 12 student Cara Fethney-Mackay for gaining a place on this summer’s Nuffield Research Placement (NRP) Programme. Earlier this year she had to submit a competitive application including a personal statement explaining her passion for science.

Nuffield Research Placements (NRP) are engaging, real-life research or development projects, where talented students are placed at the heart of a UK host organisation.

The Programme provides engaging, hands-on research projects where students have the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution towards the work of the host organisation through a well-supervised but independent research collaboration relating to an area of science, quantitative social science, computing, technology, engineering or maths (or a combination!). At the end of the placement Cara will be producing a detailed poster of her research.

We wish Cara every success in the placement and look forward to hearing all about it in September.
