Mental Health

Kooth offers wellbeing support 365 days a year via a range of self-help materials and peer to peer support which young people are able to contribute to. Kooth also has an online wellbeing team from 12pm- 10pm on weekdays and 6pm- 10pm on weekends offering 1:1 text-based online counselling via live chat or messaging.

We are introducing a new series of Ed(ucational) Talks, where industry professionals and experienced practitioners come to speak with our students, sharing their experiences with mental health, how they overcame it and where they can get support.

Supporting Mental Health at Hilbre High School

Looking after our Mental Health is so important. On these webpages, designed to help direct all in our community to the best resources to support our Mental Health, we hope there is information to support a person who may be in need of that support!

You will see we have constructed a Four Tier Provision Map, outlining the Mental Health Support we are able to provide in school and/or through external support agencies. Although it looks quite ‘formal’ it is there as a guide around the provision we provide. Moving forward, we have plans to develop a more child-friendly version.

There is also a directory of support that is available through largely local channels. We have taken this directory from CAMHS. Over time, we will be adding to and subtracting from it, so that the services outlined are all contemporary and relevant to Hilbre stakeholders, whether students, staff or those in the wider community.

When looking after your own Mental Health and the Mental Health of others, there are always three basic ingredients that are cited as key to helping maintain healthy Mental Health.

These are:

Exercise well; eat healthy foods and aim for a good, sustained night’s sleep.

We hope that these basic ingredients will help to sustain good, healthy Mental Health for you and those you know.
