Congratulations to Year 12 students, Michael Wilkinson and Leo Woodley, who have successfully gained places on this year’s Unilever work experience. Earlier this year they had to complete a competitive application which was open to students studying STEM subjects and who are planning to continue their studies at university.
The week long work experience begins on 4 July, in person, at Unilever’s research and development facility, Port Sunlight. They will learn the processes of working for a fast moving consumer goods company and what it entails – from concept through to product launch on the market shelves. This will include: tours of the facilities, seminars; lab formulation and packaging; pilot plant processing; analytical techniques; automation and product appraisal.
They will spend 4 days at the Unilever factory in Port Sunlight and one day at the Materials Innovation Factory, Liverpool University campus.
Good luck Mike and Leo.
